Background:I grew up in a Christian home and had a reverence for God and a desire to do His will. My sister, who was always talking to me about the bible and her relationship with Jesus, invited me to go to her church where an evangelist was speaking. When I entered the church I felt a peace and love from the people. At the end of the service I went up front to be prayed for and felt the power of God upon me and was told that God was healing me.
After my experience at the church, my life changed. I had hope and joy that I never experienced before. I wanted to know more about Jesus and His Word. I had become born-again. I was later water baptised and received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Jesus became real to me and I could feel His presence.
When I was 18 years old I was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease and told I would be on medication the rest of my life (no cure). Shortly after becoming born-again (30 years old), I went to a Specialist who sent me for a routine x-ray and I was told there was no sign that I ever had Crohn’s Disease and that I was to stop all medication. Praise God!
The Lord also miraculously healed me again when it was discovered that I had an ulcer in my eye next to the retina I was told that if they didn’t stop the process, I could lose the sight in my eye. Also, if they stopped the process, I would have to continue treatment for six months. I was given an ointment that had to be put in my eye every few hours. My Pastor and his wife prayed with me for a healing miracle. The next morning I returned to the Specialist and was told that the ulcer was gone and that I didn’t have to return for any treatments. I knew God had healed me again.
The Holy Spirit has inspired me to write many songs based on scripture, my own personal experiences and songs to minister to others going through difficult times. My husband and friends encouraged me to record these songs which I did in 2003. I recorded a CD “You Are My Destiny” in which I wrote12 songs. The lyrics of these songs bring divine inspiration – the Word of God, the salvation message, hope, and intimacy with Jesus.
I have had two write-ups in the Halifax newspapers - “The Chronicle Herald” and “Mail Star”; performed two songs from the CD on “Breakfast TV”; performed many songs as solos; participated in benefit concerts; led praise and worship (with guitar or keyboard) in the church and other Christian events
